Welcome to the Young Writers Workshop! Join us at the Way Public Library for a fun and interactive event designed for young aspiring writers.
Join the Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival for a young writers workshop. Learn about the writing craft from local authors, including E.M. Anderson. The writing workshop will feature a variety of activities including hands-on writing practice, elements of story construction, and advice from published authors.
The workshop is on Friday, July 19th from 10am-2pm at the Way Public Library in Perrysburg. The workshop is ideal for young writers in middle & high school. We will provide snacks and lunch.

Amid the drama and uncertainty of school was one glimmering spot of hope and happiness: the Book Fair. Getting to take a few minutes out of your regular school day to wander the bookshelves was as enchanting as walking through the wardrobe into Narnia.
It is time to enjoy the adult thrill of the Book Fair at Earnest Brew Works with Gathering Volumes and benefiting the Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival, Thursday, November 2 from 5 – 9 pm!
The fundraiser is for adults 21+ and the funds raised are used to provide free meals to students at the Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival.

About the authors and artists: Julie Anne Lindsey is an award-winning, bestselling author of mystery and romantic suspense. She’s published more than fifty novels since her debut in 2013 and currently writes series as herself, as well as under multiple pen names, for Harlequin, Kensington, Sourcebooks and Crooked Lane Books. She is represented by Erin Niumata at Folio Literary Management.
Kit Frick is a MacDowell fellow and ITW Thriller Award finalist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She studied creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College and received her MFA from Syracuse University. She is the author of multiple thrillers including, for young adults, Before We Were Sorry (originally published as See All the Stars), All Eyes on Us, I Killed Zoe Spanos, Very Bad People, and The Reunion, and for adults, The Split. She is also the author of the poetry collection A Small Rising Up in the Lungs. Kit loves a good mystery but has only ever killed her characters. Honest.
Amber Kear is a muralist, illustrator, and designer. She is the owner of Hysteria Company in Findlay, OH. Her company promotes ethnic and cultural equality in our communities through art and design. She graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a BSA in graphic design.
Jim Zalewski is a multidisciplined artist with substantial career experience ranging from developing and maintaining a web server to professional color correction and PrePress to fine art and Illustration. After a career spent doing everything from graphic design to building websites, Zalewski now paints full time from his studio and gallery inside the Erie Street Market building.
